Are you interested in child care and like camping, have a good communication and rapport with children. Can you listen to and understand their problems and then help to come up with a possible solution?
Every volunteer, working as part of a team, is involved in providing a full programme of activities for all the children on camp. But within your group along with your team leader and 2 other volunteers you will be responsible for your 8 children, which includes their everyday needs such as cleanliness, ailments, problems, getting their clothes from the baggage tent and getting them to bed at night etc.
You might be good at a specialist activity such as Art & Craft, Music/ Guitar Playing, Sports & Team Games, Dancing, Acting (needed for the camp concert) etc that you could encourage the children to take part in.
Should you wish you could take 1 day off during camp to chill out and do your own thing. Finally, you will get a lot out of the summer Camp by simply working and being with the children. Should you wish we could supply a certificate at the end of camp and a reference/comment to go towards a CV or Record of achievement.
