A Unique Volunteer Opportunity
Re:bourne
Award-winning cultural producers Nimble Fish and Kent-based visual arts company Workers of Art will be creating and producing a new summer festival in Sittingbourne. Staged over the weekend of 13-14 August 2010 from 2:30 to 5:30 pm re:bourne will be a cross-arts, site-responsive festival that will explore the many lives of Sittingbourne.
Sittingbourne High Street, which will be transformed into a magical 'travelling' space for visitors featuring art, light, sound and performance focused on the past, present and future of the area. The event will be promoted widely across Swale and throughout Kent via a creative marketing campaign designed to draw a wide range of visitors.Volunteers for re:bourne will carry out a number of roles before, during and after the event. We do not see our volunteers turning up on the day to only help out with ‘boring jobs’ and leaving. We see them as Ambassadors for the event and they will have the chance to drive and develop the festival. We will draw upon each Ambassador’s individual skills and passions so they get the most out of this opportunity.
What: Re:bourne 2010
When: Friday 13th & Saturday 14th August, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. each day (call time for Volunteers likely to be 1:00 p.m. but TBC

Who: Fifteen Enthusiastic and Energetic 16-25 Year Olds

Timeline for re:bourne Ambassadors
(NOTE CHANGE OF DATE FROM ORIGINAL TIMELINE!
NEW DATE FOR FIRST WORKSHOP IS THURSDAY 5th AUGUST NOT WEDNESDAY 4th AUGUST!)
Thursday 5th August – Workshop 1
Where: Avenue Theatre
When: 11am – 3pm
What: This will be a fun session where the volunteers get to know a bit about the festival, meet the team, and explore the roles that will suit each individual volunteer
Friday 6th August – Workshop 2 and Site Promotion 1
Where Avenue Theatre and Sittingbourne High Street
When: 11am – 3pm
What: First half of the day will be spent developing ideas to promote and the second half will be putting these ideas into practice on the High Street!
Wednesday 11th August – Site Promotion 2 and Brief for Event
Where: Location TBC
When: 11am – 3pm
What: First half of the day will be spent promoting the festival and the second half will be spent further briefing volunteers on their roles for the festival. These will be based on what each individual has contributed throughout the three sessions and also the interests you have expressed to us.
Friday 13th August – Day 1 of the Event

What: THE EVENT!
Saturday 14th August – Day 2 of the Event and Wrap Party!
Where: Sittingbourne High Street
When: TBC
What: THE EVENT! Followed by a Wrap Party to reward all for your hard work and effort.
