Leavesden Green Youth club is a busy facility for 11 - 17 year olds, providing games, arts & crafts, pool, table tennis, uni-hoc, Wii, air hockey, outdoor sports, tuck shop, and much more. It's run entirely by volunteers on wednesday evenings from 7 - 9pm, and we often have between 40 and 50 young people through the session. We could do many more activities if we had more volunteer help! Tasks include setting up the games and computer, helping in the tuck shop, taking part in the sports and activities as needed and generally 'mucking in' as and when required; also building a rapport with the young people by chatting and listening, or partnering them in a game of pool, for example. This would be great for anyone considering a career in youth work, social work or teaching; we run all year round including school holidays, so please get in touch if you can help us out!
