    Are you passionate about supporting young people to get the best out of life? Do you want to gain more experience in the youth/community sector? Re-Evolve, our unique youth-led careers service, has a new exciting internship opportunity helping to run and develop the programme for 16-25 year olds.

    Ideal for graduates who are looking for experience for their CVs, this will give you valuable insights into the charity sector, how to engage with and work alongside youth services and community organisations and hands on experience of planning and delivering practical projects with young people.

     

    Duties will include:

     

    • Researching and building relationships with education, pre-employment, youth and community organisations to recruit new volunteers and promote the web service to young people
      • Research into other organisations to help build a map of similar provision in the area
      • Keep in regular contact with youth providers and pre-employment programmes to ensure key stakeholders are informed and aware of our work
      • Visiting youth clubs, schools, colleges and other youth services and building up Re-Evolve’s presence in the local community

     

     

    • Assisting in the delivery of workshops and sessions with young volunteers
      • Supporting the lead volunteer tutor in the planning and delivery of weekly Re-Evolve volunteer sessions, including setting and monitoring tasks for volunteers, one-to-one support for volunteers, and group discussions and activities.
      • Assisting with the recruitment and induction of new volunteers

     

    • Designing peer-to-peer interactive workshop programme for schools, colleges, youth clubs
      • Developing a model of interactive and participatory peer-to-peer employment support/careers advice
      • Assist in the planning and delivery of the workshop programme
      • Assist in monitoring the success and impact of the project

     

     

    • Marketing and events
      • Contribute news and case studies for monthly newsletters
      • Promote Re-Evolve project to young people and youth/community/education organisations
      • Represent Vital Regeneration and Re-Evolve in all activities

      

    The candidate will need to demonstrate the following qualities:

     

    • An interest in developing young people’s skills and confidence and a passion for improving the lives of disadvantaged communities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • IT literacy – MS Office Applications, especially Word, Excel, powerpoint and Email
    • Commitment to promoting community engagement
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse range of individuals and organisations

     

    As Re-Evolve is a youth-led project, candidates must be aged 18-25 years old.  

     

     

    Expenses

    This is a voluntary post. The chosen candidate will be reimbursed for travel (up to £8) and daily food expenses (up to £4).
