Partnership Coordinator

When we need you:

You will deliver the event during October half term, probably on the weekend of 30th to 31st October, but you will be involved in planning sessions in the run up to the event at times that suit the planning group. So about 15 hours in total between August and October. There is also a residential training and team building weekend on either 21st to 22nd August or 11th to 12th September in Kettering (we provide accommodation and pay for your transport). Attendance is encouraged and it will be held on the date most people can make.

    Do you see yourself as a good organiser, good at talking with people, someone who loves to see a project succeed?  Volleyball England are forming a 25th Hour Event Group of volunteers who will be supported to plan and deliver a volleyball event for young people in their area during October half-term (Saturday 23rd October to Sunday 31st October 2010).  As a team, you take the lead in how the project progresses. This is a fantastic unique sporting opportunity to give something back to your community so get in touch!

     

    A 25th Hour Project Action Group will be based in Tyne and Wear.  There will also be three other groups around the country and opportunities for members from each group to attend central meetings and training courses.

     

    Each group requires a Partnership Coordinator to speak to local clubs, youth and community groups and local Volleyball England staff to tell them about the event and get their support.

     

    Main duties:

    ● To contact local clubs, youth and community groups and Volleyball England staff for help in the planning stage

    ● To advise children what clubs they can join after the activities

     

    Essential skills required:

    ● A knowledge of volleyball

    ● Connections with a local volleyball club would be helpful but not essential

    ● Enthusiasm

    ● A team-player

    ● Able to use own initiative

    ● Self-motivated

    ● Able to talk to people of different ages from different backgrounds

    ● Patience

    ● Willingness to learn

    Out of pocket expenses (such as travel and food) are paid for by prior arrangement.

     

    After you have said you’re interested in doing this, we’ll send an application form.  This needs to be returned by the end of July.  Then when you’ve done this we will phone you for an informal chat.  CRB checks may also need to be done, but we’ll help you with this.
