The Sea Cadets is a youth group where you can get to grips with subjects both on water and land as part of basic training, all on a nautical theme. You can take part in courses and competitions ranging from rock climbing and shooting to music, power boating and sailing. These can give you a head start in life and boost your confidence, plus it's good fun.
Volunteers will supervise children and youth (age 10-18) taking part in a variety of exciting indoor and outdoor activities. You will be required to integrate and work with a team of other volunteers. Volunteers should be committed and show initiative in keeping kids active and guiding them on the principles of the Sea Cadets. This includes promoting self esteem, good social values and morals, self awareness, hard work as an independent person in society and as a team when required.
Volunteers will be required to undergo a Enhanced CRB Disclosure, Child Protection and First Aid Training. Many volunteers take a on a specialty subject offered by the Sea Cadets and become volunteer civilian or uniformed instructors. Skills and qualification offered by the Sea Cadets include water borne and dry land activities.
