Location: Great North Museum: Hancock, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 4PT AND Castle Eden Dene Nature Reserve, Peterlee
Find out more about the exciting world of fungi as we venture into Castle Eden Dene National Nature Reserve. Learn how to identify different species and play an active role in their conservation through recording.Following an exploration of the Castle Eden Dene case study in the Natural Northumbria gallery at the Great North Museum: Hancock, our expert will lead you around the site itself to investigate its impressive fungal community.
The event is suitable for people aged 16 and over, and is free of charge but booking is essential. Transport from the Great North Museum: Hancock to Castle Eden Dene and back again will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
