Are you 16-25? Want to help restore ancient woodland on Dartmoor? Well look no further ... Moor Trees need you! Every Sunday a volunteer group goes out to various sites on Dartmoor. Volunteers will be involved in a whole range of tasks, such as, seed collecting, seed sowing, cultivating, maintaining their local tree nurseries, & eventually planting out the trees in the winter months. Moor Trees is a Devon-based woodland charity. We work across Dartmoor and the South Hams, and in Exeter and Plymouth. We work with local people to create and restore native woodland. Our AIMS are to: - Plant new woodland - Encourage natural regeneration - Build social cohesion through volunteering - Provide high quality education and training - Promote the value of a low carbon economy We work with local individuals, groups and businesses to collect local seed to grow local provenance trees in our community tree nurseries before planting in our woodlands. Full training & support will be provided. You will need wear sturdy footwear, old clothes you don't mind getting dirty & waterproofs.
