    To provide a highly visible and accessible presence in the community and to perform other related duties thereby supporting the force in the delivery of neighborhood policing, promoting reassurance.

    Post holder is required to parade regularly as a Special Constable, 4 hours per week over a 48 week annual period.

    The post holder will support the Force in delivering a quality service to the people of Merseyside. This involves High Visibility Patrol, thereby reducing not only crime but the fear of crime and maximising the positive image of the Special Constabulary within Merseyside Police.

    The post holder will predominantly work in uniform as directed, however there may be occasions when they may be required to patrol in plain clothes when addressing various initiatives.

    To work within neighborhood and Area policing teams in addressing local issues, proactively engage in the prevention, detection and reduction of all crime, especially volume crime.

    Attending neighborhood and community forums when required, assisting with a problem solving approach to issues.

    Post holder should possess a high level of motivation, enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility in order to undertake the role.

    To be dynamic and demonstrate a confident personal style in order to undertake the role.

    Have the ability to work with the minimum supervision in a high profile "front line" position and display a mature and where necessary caring approach.

    Possess the relevant skills to use the Force, Information Technology systems for he processing of statements etc, Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS), Police National Computer (PNC) and Command and Control (C&C) in order to interrogate on these systems for the accurate recording of incidents and gaining information.
