Chiltern Open Air Museum is a fabulous site covering several acres of countryside, in which old buildings have been carefully reassembled and preserves after being moved from their original locations. Attractions range from the Iron Age through the Middle Ages to the Victorian period and there is even a WWII Nissen Hut!
There's also a farm, and gardens, a cafe and many events and activity weekends are held throughout the year. It's a great place to visit and very popular with families, children and schools.
The reception and ticket office can get very busy, and ideally the museum would like to have one or two full time volunteers to run it. Tasks include welcoming visitors, selling tickets to them and giving information about the facilities; looking after the displays of merchandise in the shop, to helping re-stock when necessary; serving customers, operating the tills and generally helping to ensure the smooth running of the museum.
This would be a good opportunity for anyone seeking to work in retail, tourism or in any job where people-skills and customer service are key.
