Enfield Mencap are looking for an outgoing, friendly and confident individual to volunteer supporting their travel and road safety awareness programme. This is a very unique and specialist opportunity, thus it is for someone who really wants to help make a real difference to someone’s life. In addition to this it is also a great opportunity for someone who is interested in a career in nursing, health and social care, psychology, teaching or family orientated roles to gain essential skills for those fields.
Enfield Mencap is a charity that works in partnership with people who have learning difficulties, their main aim is to provide support and services to people with learning disabilities.
The role will involve:

The Role involves developing the skills and knowledge in safe travel and different types of travel that can be assessed for members who have a learning disability but aspire to live independently or live more independent lives.
·
You would help develop their skills and knowledge of travel and understanding of what road safety is thus ensuring they adopt the correct road safety skills and promote these techniques to others around them
·
The session runs all day once a week and involves community learning on buses, taxis, walking, cycling, tube/ train etc
