More info
Through a community of student-run READ Book Projects, we mobilise university students to collect disused, high-quality Key Stage 3 and GCSE textbooks from UK secondary schools. Our student volunteers give presentations to schools pupils to promote student volunteering, young social enterprise, recycling and global citizenship. To date, READ have donated over 564,000 textbooks to 580 Tanzanian secondary schools and twelve regional libraries. This summer we will deliver another 330,000 across 20 regions of Tanzania and 2 regions of Uganda- our biggest shipment to date, but we need YOUR help to do it! We are looking for donations of ANY book - but ideally Key Stage 3, GCSE, A Level and University level textbooks. Small donations can be dropped at your local storage point (contact us for details of where and how) If you have a large number of books we can arrange a free collection for you. Still studying? Please pass the news onto your teachers and lecturers!!!
