Wirral based Alcohol mentor.
Volunteers required to deliver a mentor education programme to young people focusing on alcohol and related harm, across Wirral aged 13-15.
Be a positive advocate for the young people you come into contact with.
Deliver supplied alcohol workshops in specified Youth Hubs across the Borough, supported by trained professionals.
Discuss personal experience of alcohol use with young people within Youth Hubs.
Shadow professionals on alcohol outreach work.
Provide individual support to young people in the Youth Hubs as necessary, supported by a professional mentor.
Deliver ongoing evaluation of activity.
Cover the following subject areas:
Your Personal experience with alcohol
Alcohol perceptions and facts
Alcohol risks and staying safe
Alternatives to drinking
Consult with young people on what they would like to see provided locally and how the project could be delivered in the future.
Feed into the evaluation at the end of the project.You must live or have detailed knowledge of Birkenhead, Wallasey, Bebington or West Kirby.
Ability to provide mentoring support in events during November.
Availability for training week commencing 1st November.
Personal experience with alcohol use.
Understanding of alcohol-related harm.
Positive attitude.
Out going personality
Team-working abilities.
Confidence.
High levels of commitment to delivering the project. -
