The main Purpose of this job
Develops, implements and delivers effective fundraising and marketing activities in order to deliver agreed annual targets for solicited and unsolicited gross and net income growth.
It is part of an overall strategy to maximise income for, and raise the profile of, RollaDome All Skate.

Brief Description
Initially this job will be a volunteer role for 10 hours a week, working from home and remotely accessing the RollaDome server with a view of becoming permanent.
The Events and Projects Officer is to plan and execute all RollaDome events. These include our RollaDome Discos, skate schools and family events. In order to be successful in this role, the Events and Projects Officer must work with all people in the organisation and outside suppliers, including venues, suppliers and partners.
On the days of the event, problem solving, creativity and determination all are key attributes in making a successful event.

Scope of the Job
A
To organise all RollaDome events and to coordinate fundraising events for the general public in order to deliver agreed income and profile targets.
B
To liaise and negotiate with outside suppliers to obtain the best possible quote for a non profit organisation, such as RollaDome All Skate
C
To develop and maintain knowledge of the fundraising market and be familiar with RollaDome All Skate activities.
D
Project planning for each event, including budgeting and ensure levels of staffing for each event.
5.
Duties and responsibilities
A
To organise all RollaDome events and to coordinate fundraising events for the general public in order to deliver agreed income and profile targets.
· Respond to enquiries regarding organising fundraising events in a timely fashion. Research or request information from other sources as necessary. Refer queries to other colleagues as appropriate.
· Prepare and send correspondence to fundraisers, including promotional and support materials.
· Acknowledge in writing receipt of donations in relation to individual fundraising events.
· Assist in the preparation and provision of information to and individual fundraisers, including representing the charity on visits or at events, as agreed with the Events Co-ordinator.
B
To liaise and negotiate with outside suppliers to obtain the best possible quote for a non profit organisation, such as RollaDome All Skate
· Agree set objectives with the Chair.
· Monitor the development of each event/initiative, ensuring that objectives are achieved.
· Liaise with fundraising event organisers/sponsors, agreeing service levels and responsibilities.
· Undertake feasibility and risk assessments to ensure that any RollaDome All Skate liability in relation to a fundraising event is adequately covered.
· Develop promotional materials and designs for approval, in conjunction with the team, and co-ordinate dispatch of literature to the target audience.
· Ensure that appropriate literature is provided at events.
· Support volunteers involved in fundraising events through the provision of appropriate information.
· Ensure that all expenditure is kept within agreed budgets and is authorised by the Chair as appropriate.
· Ensure that records are kept of all income generated and that all donations are acknowledged.
· Undertake evaluation of fundraising events/initiatives, including assessment of income raised and feedback from participants, and suggest improvements for the future.
C
To develop and maintain knowledge of the fundraising market and be familiar with RollaDome All Skate activities.
· Maintain an up to date knowledge of charity law affecting fundraising and events.
· Maintain an up to date knowledge of the events market and the activities of other charitable organisations to identify market gaps and new opportunities.
· Build an understanding of Parkinson’s, the treatments available and advances made in the areas of care and research.
· Liaise with the Research Directorate, the Policy, Campaigns and Information Directorate and the Community Services Directorate, in order to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in research and service provision.
· Provide information and advice regarding the events programme and co-ordination of fundraising events to colleagues in other Directorates as requested.

· Assist in the development and maintenance of administrative procedures to enable the team to function effectively.
· Ensure all enquirers’ details are logged accurately on the database. Assist with amendments and data cleaning as required.
· Correctly process all events related income in accordance with finance systems, including online fundraising website reports, to ensure accurate record keeping. Ensure team members receive copies of all relevant paperwork for acknowledgement.
· Respond to general enquiries regarding the events programme in a timely fashion, providing promotional and support materials. Research or request information from other sources as necessary. Refer queries to other colleagues as appropriate.
· Assist team members with research relating to new events, as requested by Events Co-ordinator.
· Work with the team in preparing promotional materials and literature.
· Assist with collation, packaging and dispatch of materials for events.
· Attend events and assist with activities on the day as directed, including set up and break down, preparation of event materials, and assisting volunteers/fundraisers.
6.
General responsibilities
· Contribute positively to Events Team meetings; work collaboratively with colleagues and implement organisational priorities.
· Be flexible within the broad remit of the post.
· Take direction on projects and priorities, which may vary from time to time.
· Abide by organisational policies and practices, including the equal opportunities policy and code of conduct.
· Be self-servicing and able to act on own initiative where necessary.
· Assist with administration and support of RollaDome All Skate fundraising events outside normal working hours (see Working Hours Policy).
