  • More info

Includes Us 2  is a charitable company working to support disabled children and their families in the Ashford, Dover and Shepway districts. It has 6 trustees and has run a number of events for families as well as developing its vision, publicity and a voice for families in the area.

It is now looking for volunteers to make more families aware of the organisation and what it does, develop good, clear information for families and make sure we have information needed to feed in views to service providers so that services can better meet the needs of families in future.

IU2 are looking, initially, to recruit a volunteer information officer to undertake some of these tasks.

    Specific Tasks

    1.       Regularly update parents on events and other useful information through the IU2 e mail.

    2.       Provide additional and frequently updated information to the Web designer on a regular basis so the website remains up to date with information to parents.

    3.       Distribute the IU2 leaflet as widely as possible across the 3 districts to raise the profile of IU2 and encourage IU2 membership.

    4.       Produce a termly newsletter for IU2 with the main audience being parents and families, with professionals also having access to the newsletter.

    5.       Raise the profile of IU2 – in liaison with the trustees – through radio, press and other means across the 3 districts.

    6.       Help to plan events for families (working alongside the trustees)

    7.       Receive enquiries from families for information and refer these to the trustees/development worker for action and a response.

    8.       Research areas of specific concerns that IU2 wish to advocate on so that an informed response can be provided on these issues and used for change/campaigning and advocacy purposes.

    9.       Provide support where needed to trustees in the design of specific information leaflets for families (e.g. useful weblinks/contact info on specific subjects).
