Purpose of the Post:
Visit and befriend immigration detainees at the Dover Immigration and Removal Centre
Volunteer Specification:
Non-judgemental.
Be able to value religious beliefs.
Be able to commit a couple of hours per week.
Empathy of asylum seekers and refugees.
Main Duties:
To support, empower and encourage detainee.
Bring a fresh perspective from outside the detention centre
To attend regular training sessions provided by Dover Detainee Visitors Group and area support group meetings.
