UNICEF is a huge charity, working all across the world to help children.
UNICEF has fundraising groups all across the UK, and the Sheffield UNICEF group is looking for volunteers!
We do all sorts of fundraising, and we have loads planned for 2011 including street collections, sponsored walks (coast to coast walk!), parties, fayres and raffles... the list goes on.
We also do a lot of stuff with schools, including arts projects with primary school children and fundraising & awareness raising with secondary schools diploma students.
One of the best ways to get the money we urgently need to support UNICEFs work is to arrange street collections (holding buckets & asking nicely for spare change!) We need collectors to help out with our regular street collections in Sheffield, Rotherham and Worksop.The street collections really are vitally important to UNICEF, especially at times of emergency like the Haiti Earthquake and the Pakistan Floods.
There's no minimum or maximum time commitment, we'll just let you know where and when our collections are, and you can help out as and when you're available.
There's also opportunity to get involved with other work that the Sheffield UNICEF group does throughout the year.
