  Role Title: Assistant Athletic Coach

  Purpose:  Bristol & West is a volunteer run Athletic club. Currently the small numbers of volunteers they have are fulfilling a variety of roles within the club and are often stretched for time. The welcomed addition to the team will allow the club to support its growing number of members without being stretched for time and resources.

  Role Description: The volunteers’ main role will be to assist/support the Lead Coach in the delivery of the activities taken in the sessions:

  1)      Warm-up & Cool Down

  2)      Time Keeper

  3)      Track & Field Judges

  This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of athletics and develop their leadership and communication skills.  The club will also provide  a great social setting to meet new people that have similar interest and enjoyment for getting involved and supporting there local community athletics club.

  Role Requirements:

  1)      This role is for anyone who has an interest and enthusiasm for athletics and would like to take an active involvement in the club sessions.

  2)      This is an ongoing opportunity so the volunteer would need to commit on a weekly basis for the duration of the season.

  Rewards & Incentives:

  For committed volunteers their opportunity to work towards a level 1 coaching (coaching assistant) or event official qualification.

  Support given to volunteer:

  The volunteers will be supported by the Lead Coach- who will be there to guide them through the session & give support. The club’s Development Adviser will also be a point of contact for volunteers.
