Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity and escape the credit crunch by volunteering and gaining valuable skills in Mexico, land of variety and excitement!ICYE UK sends volunteers to work with local NGOs throughout Mexico ranging from several projects that last from 6 to 12 months. Projects range from supporting street children, working on human rights, environmental conservation, teaching, supporting those with disabilities, women’s rights groups, HIV and AIDS awareness, sports and arts based projects and many more. There is something for everyone!
As an ethical, cultural exchange programme, volunteers live with host families during their stay and are provided with language lessons in order to have a full experience of the culture first hand.
There is a participation fee for this programme however there is currently a £1500 bursary available and ICYE UK also provide extensive assistance with fundraising towards this fee. The participation fee is an all inclusive cost and it covers flights, accommodation, food, health insurance, visas, training, language lessons, pocket money etc.
Departures for long term programme are August 2011 and January 2012. An application form and interview are necessary to apply. ICYE UK also hold regular, free information days - the next ones coming up are Saturday 9th of April and Saturday 9th May.
