Becoming involved as a Trustee is a real opportunity to gain experience of leadership, strategy and business as the director of a community charity.

Aylesham Neighbourhood Project is led by a Board of Trustees who are all volunteers and oversee the strategic direction of the charity and ensure that the Project achieves outcomes for the communities with which it works.

The Board has overall legal responsibility for the charity and ensures that:

    ·       the Project pursues and achieves its objects and aims

    ·       the Project complies with charity and company law and its governing document

    ·       the funds and assets of the Project are protected and used exclusively to pursue its purposes and the Project remains solvent and is not exposed to undue risk

The trustees delegate the day to day running of the charity to its staff, directing the Manager to carry out the strategy that is collectively agreed by the Board.

The current trustees have a range of skills and expertise to offer to the Project and have driven forward the Project’s growth and success. As we plan for the Project’s future development, the trustees are seeking to widen and strengthen the Board by recruiting more trustees to join them
