    Restless Development

Restless Development is an international development charity focused on putting young people at the forefront of change and development. It is the global leader in supporting young people to address the urgent health, education, and environmental issues which affect their lives, communities, and countries. Restless Development has eight country programme offices across Africa and Asia, and its International Programme team operates from London.

dance4life is an innovative, international programme that uses urban music and dance to inspire and empower young people to make a stand against HIV and AIDS by acting4life. dance4life trains young people about HIV and AIDS and the realities of HIV in both a UK and a global context. The young people are then supported to act4life (spread awareness of HIV and dance4life in their schools and communities). Once young people act4life they become a dance4life agent4change. The UK branch of dance4life is run by Restless Development.

TAGs (Taking Action Groups) are the groups that young people form in their schools to act4life. These consist of 6 - 8 young people, 1 teacher and 1 Development Trainer. The Development Trainers role is to train the TAGs in the skills4life programme and then support them to act4life.

skills4life is the training programme that dance4life provides for agents4change through Development Trainers as peer educators. The training includes sessions on definitions of HIV and AIDS, HIV transmission routes and how to protect yourself, stigma and discrimination, HIV statistics - UK and globally, and how to make a stand against HIV and AIDS by raising awareness, fundraising and/or campaigning. The group size varies but will be approximately 20 young people.

N.B.: Development Trainers will attend a 2-day residential training course 17th / 18th September  2011  to learn how to facilitate training to the young people. Further training courses may be available at a later stage to update Development Trainers when required. Travel, accommodation and food will be covered.
