The Rainforest Foundation UK (RFUK), registered as a charity in 1989, works to support indigenous people and traditional populations of the world´s rainforest in their efford to protect their environment and fulfil their rights to land, life and livelihoods.
RFUK has a small, but busy, fundraising team which manage a number of annual fundraisers including our 4 Seasons 10K runs and a Christmas online called the 12 Days of Christmas online auction. We also have an invaluable army of volunteers, without which, these events would simply not be possible.
This year we aim to break records with our 12 Days of Christmas online auction, and have already secured lots from a range of donors, including celebrities, fashion houses, home ware and sports brands etc. We are now looking for a reliable volunteer to help us manage promotion, coordination and the fulfilment of this exciting fundriser. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about innovative ways of fundrainsing for charities.

The auction runs from Tue 15th - Sun 27th November 2011. We are thus looking for a volunteer to start asap.
Main duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Help manage the following auction tasks:
- Lead on the social network promotion for auction on Facebook and on Twitter
- Preparing lots and uploading them onto ebay (via Turbo uploading software)
- Postage and packaging of auction items once the auction has ended
Social networking and promotion:
- Expand RFUK´s exciting Facebook and Twitter following
- Promote the auction to RFUK´s FB and Twitter followers and form closer links with these
- Start 12 days of Christmas count-down tweeting and FB promotion with daily updates on both
- Upload image galleries of most sought after items on Facebook and Twitter to increase interest.
- Engage auction donors and wider audience in the promotion of the auction.
Ebay uploading and preparation:
- Sort, code, weight and sort package rates for auction items.
- Prepare all items of auction lots ready for uploading.
- Upload auction items and images onto ebay via turbo loader.
Fulfilment:
- Ensure auction items are packaged and ready to go
- Manage packing and postage of auction items
