Has the New Year got you thinking about your future plans? Are you interested in volunteering abroad, learning a new language and embracing a new culture? Volunteering with ICYE UK could be just what you’re looking for.
ICYE UK is an ethical volunteering charity offering exciting opportunities across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. Placements start from 3 weeks and range up to 12 months.
We are looking for volunteers to work with local partners in various areas including human rights, education, environmental awareness, HIV and AIDS awareness & youth support.
Why volunteer with us?
As an ICYE volunteer you will experience true immersion into the culture of your host country through living with a host family and volunteering at your chosen project. A vital aspect of our programme is that it is a cultural exchange and part of your programme fee will go towards hosting a volunteer from your host country in the UK.
As a volunteer you will be responsible for raising a programme fee but this is all-inclusive of flights, accommodation, food, pocket money, visas, training & support, health insurance and language lessons.
ICYE UK offer volunteers the chance to apply for a bursary to assist with the cost of the placement. There are 2 bursaries available for the short term and long term programme which range from £750 to £1500. The next deadline for bursary applications is the 1st of February 2012.
We hold regular free information days at our London office where you can find out more about our programme, talk to a returned volunteer about their experiences and find out how an ICYE placement could be for you. Our next information days will be held on Saturday 14th January & Saturday 4th February 2012 both from 12-4pm.
