More info
Global Action Plan, the UK’s leading environmental behaviour change charity, is looking for volunteers to help deliver support to charitable projects in our central London office. We are a dynamic charity that aims to bring about positive and long-lasting environmental and social change, and we work with people in all aspects of their lives; at home, at work, in education and in their community.
Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to provide support in the day-to-day management of our office and the delivery of our projects. Depending on your skills and what you want to get out of it, we can place you in a variety of roles, including in office administration, finance, research and project delivery.
These flexible volunteering roles would be ideal for someone who would like to gain hands-on experience of working in a small charity or the NGO community, develop their administrative skills, and help us to bring about social and environmental change.
Personal Specification
Our ideal candidate would:
· Posses a flexible, can-do attitude
· Be professional, and have a good level of English and good communication skills
· Have good organisational and time management skills
· Have the ability to show initiative and work with minimal supervision
· Posses good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and internet
· Be interested in environmental and sustainability issues
The start date and duration is flexible, but availability to work over longer periods of time would be advantageous. We will consider both full- and part-time applicants.
In return for your commitment, Global Action Plan will:
• Reimburse travel and lunch expenses
• Provide professional references for you
To apply please email your CV with a brief covering letter (no more than one side of A4) stating how you meet the person specification to ruth.whincup@globalactionplan.org.uk. Please let us know about any specific skills or interest areas that you may have so that we find a role which will suit you best.
The closing date for applications is 13th February 2012 but we do accept applications all year round.
