More info
This is an excellent opportunity to gain further experience of social media within a small community organisation. Stepney City Farm is a small charity that runs various different projects and courses on offer to the local community. The farm is funded by donations, sales and trust funds; we have just won a large Local Food lottery fund to expand the food production at the farm and open a community cafe and farm shop, and a smaller grant to employ an environmental education officer who is focusing on building a plastic bottle greenhouse with four local schools.
The Farm has a comparatively recent but thriving presence in several social media platforms. Most of this work is done by one part-time staff member: this means that there is scope for enhancement and, in particular, for tracking and reporting on metrics and in content curation. This role will contribute substantially to raising the Farm's profile. There is the potential for the work to inform a degree project.
Main activities / tasks:
- Assist with and enhance the Farm's social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Tumblr, Pinterest etc.
- Use appropriate tools to track and update metrics for social media traffic statistics
- Produce accessible weekly and monthly reports for Farm officers, Trustees and external reporting organisations to demonstrate ROI.
- Monitor trends and technologies to enhance social media presence and reporting
- Create and maintain content editorial calendar
- Curating social media content
- Develop QR codes and content to include on interactive farm signs

- Must be computer literate with experience of a variety of applications and programs
- A positive social media presence with a strong personal network
