On Sunday 21 October 2012 we need you to help cheer, shout and wave our runners along the Bupa Great Birmingham Run. With the route going through the centre of Birmingham, visiting locations such as the Bullring, Edgbaston cricket ground and the Cadbury factory, it looks to be as popular as last year’s race. This year there will be over 350 people running for Alzheimer’s Society; aiming to raise over £60,000.

We’re looking for as many people as possible to come and join us on the day to help cheer our runners on as they complete their challenge. By giving up your time we’ll supply you with a free Alzheimer’s Society t-shirt as well as light refreshments. You’ll leave with the satisfaction knowing that you helped our runners get round the course. This really is a fun day and we’d love you to come along and enjoy it with us.

    Volunteer roles

    Cheer point set up (10am – 12:30pm)

We need volunteers to help set up our cheer point before the race starts. Once this is done it’d be great for you to cheer on all our runners and really help them round the course. We’ll provide banger sticks and hand clackers to help you create the cheer and noise to spur our runners on!!

    Cheer point close (11:30am – 3pm)

We need volunteers to help cheer on our runners as they pass, providing them with the extra motivation to finish the race. Once all the runners have passed we need a couple of people to help us take down our cheer point.

We’d love to have you help us out on the day but if you can’t stay for the duration then please do come and support us for as long as you can. Whether you’ve helped out before or this will be your first time please come along and support us.

If you’re interested in being part of this fantastic event then please contact Jez on 0207 264 2664 or email jeremy.baker@alzheimers.org.uk with your name, email address and phone number and we’ll be in touch with further details.
