Being a Family Support Volunteer - supporting families all over Birmingham, can be enormously rewarding and can make a big difference to people’s quality of life. Support is tailored to the needs of each family, but typically might include: 1. working with parents to develop their child’s communication and interaction 2. support the development of play, and the parent’s confidence in playing with their child 3. working with parents/providing an extra pair of hands on practical issues that the family identify as priorities e.g. getting out and about 4. providing information, and signposting to statutory and voluntary organisations for further information/advice e.g. statementing, benefits, play schemes, respite. We provide you with first class training, out of pocket expenses, the chance to learn and develop new skills and the opportunity for lots and lots of FUN! Go on, change your perspective -
