The Get Walking Project is a Heath Initiative which aims to get people physically active through walking.

The role of Walk Ambassador is to motivate and encourage participants to achieve the aims of the Get Walking programme by providing information and support on the health and social benefits of walking.

    ·     Walking Ambassadors will work with a range of local community groups including:

    ·     Children Sure Start Centres

    ·     Mental Health Day Centres

    ·     Older Peoples Groups

    ·     Black and Minority ethnic groups

As a Walking Ambassador you will inspire people by sharing your enthusiasm for walking and sharing your knowledge of local walking routes. Once selected for the program we will work with your preferences to place you on programs you wish to be involved with.

Because of the nature of our work all applicants will have to complete a CRB Check.

    • Wow, this sounds like a great idea. I've just started walking part of the way to work from East London - so much better than battling the overground! Good luck with it x
