Self Unlimited Willow Making Volunteering Day- Ponteland 26th January 2009 A one-off opportunity to Work with residents and Ruth Thomson (a Willow Weaver) to create a willow screen for a bird hide. Volunteers will work in a poly tunnel during adverse weather conditions. Ruth Thompson specialises in making willow structures for gardens. She will be showing volunteers how to weave willow, which is cut into bundles, in order to make a large screen. This will be erected on the side of the bird hide to shield the birds using the feeders from people approaching the hide. The next volunteering Day is Tuesday 26th January 2009, if you are interested in volunteering please email Darren as soon as possible. -
