  Safe@last has been providing a service to young runaways for the past 5 years and the helpline is a major part of this.The role involves being the first port of call for a child in crisis. Training will be provided but we recommend that volunteers spend time initially as a helpline supporter - assisting the helpline volunteer. This allows the volunteer to find out more about their suitability and willingness to undertake the role prior to training commencing. The helpline is linked to an emergency response service provided by professional project workers and management support is available to volunteers at all times. The next training session for new volunteers starts In April 2010.
