More info
50-75% of all cancer related deaths could be avoidable if diagnosed earlier. The project will reach out to the local community, to reduce inequalities for people who typically present later with advanced cancer and encourage presenting earlier and at a potentially more treatable/curable phase of their cancer illness, thus improving the outcome for the patient. The areas identified are: South Foleshill, Wood End and Hillfields (Coventry) Wem Brook and Camp Hill (Nuneaton) Enfield & Smallwood (Redditch) 3 teams are to be developed to work in each of the areas above. Teams would meet on a monthly basis at a venue central to their local community. Teams would design / develop a variety of posters and information leaflets which would be used to inform the local community of the signs and symptoms of cancer and what to do if there are any concerns. All events will be within the local area, ideas and suggestions would be discussed and agreed at the team meetings. -
