  • More info

UNICEF UK is developing a new award scheme called Child Friendly Communities which aims to embed child rights at a local level. We will do this by helping Local Authorities and their Children’s Trust partners to change their policy and practice and implement a rights-based community approach. Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child states that children have the right to say what they think should happen, when adults are making decisions that affect them, and to have their opinions taken into account. The role of the ‘Article 12 Advisor ’ is to advise UNICEF UK on the development of the Child Friendly Communities Initiative, representing the voice and perspective of young people on the Steering Committee and in other relevant groups.
