EcoTeams householders could be friends, work-mates, neighbours or other people in your community. They meet once a month to learn how to make their homes more environmentally friendly. As an EcoTeam leader, you'll help your team calculate the carbon they produce by measuring their energy and water use, and waste. Then you'll organise monthly meetings to support them as they change their ways. At the end of the programme, you'll help your team calculate how much carbon they've saved and throw a party to celebrate. On average, each person reduces their household’s CO2 emissions by 16.6% and saves £148 a year. If you think you’ve got what it takes to lead an EcoTeam, you will first attend Climate Squad’s free community leadership course in London or Chester, March 2010. You'll learn all about climate change and how to lead your own environmental project. As a leader, you'll develop a range of skills and experience, and could work toward getting a BTEC qualification for your CV.
