On Tuesday 16 February, Trees for Cities and the Friends of Clapham Common will get their hands dirty planting brand new trees on the Common. As well as working hard, the volunteers will be celebrating the 300 new sapling trees and 30 established trees which are set to be planted by local volunteers in 2010. This year’s project follows on from last year’s planting of 25 new trees and 275 saplings. The charity and Friends will meet on the Common to take part in a programme which has already seen many local volunteers making a contribution to the area that will pay dividends for years to come. Come along and help out!
