  • More info

After London training, community leaders will recruit a team of volunteers to work with London communities that have received community gardens and orchards as part of a Trees for Cities project. Through our Trees for Food programme we use school grounds, estates, urban parks and even streets and cycle routes to plant trees and plants that can provide a harvest of fruit, nuts, herbs and vegetables. These projects transform local areas and bring communities together to plant, harvest and celebrate. The Trees for Food team will work on a project to encourage residents who may already or who are about to start to grow and source their food locally there by reducing food miles and the carbon impact of them. Projects can include a variety of themes such as education, sustainability and even setting up new gardening clubs.
