More info
Climate Squad has teamed up with British Council to inspire and create a community of young people to face up to Climate Change. Our residential training programme is aimed at 18-25 year olds just like you who’d like to tackle climate change, whilst also picking up some great tips on communication, teamwork, leadership and project management – really useful skills that employers look out for in their potential employees.
We are looking for individuals who -
· Have an ambitious and innovative idea of a climate change project they want to carry out in their community or at a national level;
· Want to make a tangible difference to their community and country in tackling climate change;
· Have an international perspective and are keen to network with like-minded Champions from around the world, sharing ideas and best practice;
· Are prepared to represent their communities, regions and the UK on climate change issues in national and international fora
After attending the training, you would then go on to run your very own project to create change in your local community, for which you would receive a United Nations Environment Programme certificate and become a British Council Champion. And the best part? The training’s absolutely FREE, and we’ll be covering your expenses, from your travel to your meals during the course.
Please note that the training will take place from the evening of Thursday the 31st of March until 5pm on Saturday the 2nd of April. It will be at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Powys, Wales [www.cat.org.uk].
The closing date for entries is 5pm on 17 March 2011
