The 'Big Swap' is a fun way of recycling unwanted things instead of throwing them away. The idea is that people bring along items like clothes and accessories, books, toys or games that they no longer want and 'swap' them for something else that they do want. Admission for all is free and we will be providing free refreshments.
This event in Bethnal Green follows a successful and really enjoyable event that was held earlier this year in Hackney where over 300kg of carbon was saved by diverting items from landfill!. We received lots of donations and over 100 people took part. There was a wide variety of items to swap and everyone found something to take home.
So do you want to part of making this one even bigger and better? We are looking for 3 volunteers to help our event run smoothly. The work will involve displaying swap items, and meeting and greeting people who attend. There will also be a free fashion remake workshop which you will be welcome to participate in too. So if you have an eye for a bargain and want to get some great experience in running a popular event we’d love for you to get in touch.
