Global Action Plan has received funding from the Tellus Mater Foundation to run a pilot project based on Collaborative Consumption. As part of the project we are running some workshops and other activities in Cromford, Derbyshire.
We are also running the Derbyshire Eco Challenge across Derbyshire.
Specific activities will include:
1) ‘Sharing’ workshops with existing community groups
2) ‘How to’ workshops, helping residents to access existing collaborative consumption websites such as Ecomodo, WhipCar, Freecycle/Freegle, StreetBank.
3) Working with residents to organise “Bring and Swap” events
4) Promoting the Derbyshire Eco Challenge alongside these events.
Volunteer role
We are looking for volunteers who wish to gain experience in the environmental sector, supporting Global Action Plan with the practical organising and facilitation of events for the project. Volunteers will work alongside Tom Veitch, Global Action Plan Community Programme Manager, who lives locally to the project.
Training
Informal training will be given on all of Global Action Plan’s community programmes and resources.
Expenses
Out of pocket expenses (travel and lunch) will be paid and depending on how the project develops you will have the opportunity to progress to becomning a paid ambassador, carrying out wider tasks as part of the project.
