    We are looking for a Media Liaison Volunteer to be responsible for all communications between DaDa’s Youth Volunteer Programme mygames project and First Light’s Digital Documenters filmmaking team. All projects taking part in mygames (powered by v) will be documented as part of First Light’s Digital Documenters project. This is a unique opportunity to ensure all our great Olympic inspired projects are captured on camera from the volunteer’s perspective.

    You will be mainly based in the DaDa Office at the Bluecoat in Liverpool City Centre, and from time to time you will work off site at other festival venues around the city. You will also be required to liaise with First Light (the UK’s leading initiative enabling Young People to create digital film and media projects).     Key Responsibilities:
    Working closely with and supporting DaDa’s Marketing Officer, you will:
    • Be the main point of contact to liaise with the First Light Digital Documentary Team.
    • Collate and curate content - including text, film and digital images supplied by other Volunteers for project evaluation purposes and for the ‘Youth Reporters’ blog/section of DaDa’s website.
    • Edit and upload approved content on to the ‘Youth Reporters’ blog/section of DaDa’s website.
    • Supervise peers / Volunteers regarding media related tasks and activities.
    • Assist DaDa’s Marketing Officer with media related tasks and activities, for example;
    o Online research for target groups, societies & websites and subsequent promotion online
    o Social Networking –maintaining social networking sites such as Facebook, twitter, flickr and myspace
    o Documentation of the festival with photographs, video and blog, edit and upload them online
    o Uploading of copy and images onto the DaDaFest website, using wordpress content management system.
    • Assist with media monitoring by searching, collating and presenting coverage of the festival from online and print media sources, in run-up, during and after the festival.
    • Upload festival event information to listings websites.


    Personal Specification/Skills needed:
    • You will need to be 16 – 25 years old, and Disabled and/or Deaf
    • I.T. and computer literate.
    • An interest, knowledge or experience of working within the arts and cultural sector.
    • A strong commitment to equal opportunities.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Approachable and friendly nature.
    • Ability to act on own initiative.
    • Ability to work as part of a team.
    • To have an awareness of or to be prepared to undertake training in Health and Safety and Child Protection/Safeguarding procedures.
    • All volunteers will be required to undergo CRB checks before participating in volunteering opportunities.
