We are looking for a Marketing Assistant Volunteer(s) who will support DaDa’s Marketing Officer with marketing, PR and communications leading up to, during and after the DaDaFest International 2010. You will also work alongside and be supervised by the Media Liaison Volunteer.
You will be mainly based in the DaDa Office at the Bluecoat in Liverpool City Centre, and you will be required to work off site at other festival venues around the city.
Key Responsibilities:Distribution & Data
• Print distribution – foot patrol, in pairs, to distribute print to shops, cafes and leisure and tourist destinations.
• Assist with the upkeep of the DaDa organisational database.
• Liaise with festival venues and partners on their print requirements, ensuring all have enough copies of the festival brochure.
• Co-ordinate and assist with the mail-out of festival information.Online (supervised and overseen by the Media Liaison Volunteer)
• Online research for target groups, societies & websites and subsequent promotion online.
• Social Networking – creating content for the V Inspired section of the DaDaFest website and maintaining social networking sites such as Facebook, twitter, flickr and myspace.
• Documentation of the festival with photographs, video and blog, edit and upload them online.
• Assist with the uploading of copy and images onto the DaDaFest website, using wordpress content management system.Visitor Research
• Co-ordinate the distribution and collection of audience research questionnaires, including carrying out face-to-face audience research interviews during the festival.
• Conducting visitor tours with interpretation around the exhibitions.
• Enter festival audience questionnaire data into a database and assist with analysis (eg ‘Survey Monkey’) post festival.Promotion
• Participate in PR events.
• Act as DaDaFest ambassadors to peer groups, contributing ideas to further the promotion of the festival.
There will also be an opportunity for all volunteers to participate in blogging and documenting the festival online.
Person Specification/Skills Needed:
• To be I.T. and computer literate
• To have an interest, knowledge or experience of working within the arts and cultural sector
• You will need to be 16 – 25 years old, and Disabled and/or Deaf
• To have a strong commitment to equal opportunities
• Excellent communication skills
• Approachable and friendly nature
• Ability to act on own initiative
• Ability to work as part of a team
• To have an awareness of/and/or be prepared to undertake training in Health and Safety and Child Protection/Safeguarding procedures
