Summer Sports Fundraising Guide

Ok, so you’ve probably finished with exams right? Or in the middle of them? Either way.. There will be some of you out there that just want to kick back on campus, the school field or just plain in the park. You’ve probably dusted down the Frisbee or the Scatch and are looking for a bit of an excuse to whip out the guns (or get others to) and run about a bit in the sun. But how can we make money for youth volunteering?

  • Volleyball, with a twist

Everyone loves the glamour of beach volleyball, but we of inland Britain aren’t blessed with golden beaches. So what! Let’s fake it with a ball, a net and some friends who would just love to get in their swimming smalls and prance about on campus/in the park. Get 4 teams together and have a winner stays on mini tournament. It won’t take all afternoon and it will be a laugh. £10 a team of 4-6 is only a couple of quid each, but with 4 teams that’s £40 for charity! It’s enough to make a huge difference to our work, and to young people all over the country.

  • Frisbee golf

Take a look! Ever loved getting your hands on a Frisbee, remembering how exciting it feels to throw it back and forth, and then.. back.. and forth.. and again. Well, this is Frisbee with a competitive edge! Check out this kit for some tips to get started. Guaranteed your mates own;t have heard of it, and why not get the posers who lazily thrown the Frisbee around campus involved too! Just like the volleyball, £10 a team or £4 per person is a great amount to raise for a couple of hours entertainment.

Of course, there are always sports games going on and if you can see a way to raise money from them, let us know at iheartvolunteering@vinspired.com or find us on facebook and let us know! Surely something similar to the above for tennis (love how everyone dusts their racket off when Wimbledon rolls into town) or football would work really well too. £20 raised this way could make a massive difference to our work and it’s an afternoon of entertainment, bonding, exercise and getting the guns out for you. Everyone’s a winner!
