Fundraising through partying – feel-good guide to the summer surely?
- Simple, but effective. Donation to attend!
When you ask people to bring a bottle, why not ask for a £4 donation for v at your house party or BBQ too? It’s the same price that they’d pay to get into the no doubt deserted campus club.. and parties are so much cheaper than a night out anyway, it would be rude not to ask for some money for charity!
- Fancy dress
Pirates, Pimps, Princesses, Pink… or moving away from the P thing.. Cowboys, animals, anime, wrestlers and divas. Anything really! I’m sure you know a few that are just gagging to dress up at every opportunity. Or maybe you and your mates fall into the ‘hmm.. not for me thanks’. How about raising money from both sides? You make a donation if you dress up, and a donation if you don’t! Everyone’s a winner.
- Jukebox DJ
At a party, there is always someone that sits by the Ipod, taking over, flicking through tracks and as soon as one gets going and gets everyone up, they flip the track and everyone goes from rhythmic to shuffling while they work out what just happened… We all know one! How about get everyone involved with creating their own playlist! How about 20p per track, 50p for 3 and everyone gets to play DJ and showcase their favourite tracks or band they’ve been wanting to show everyone for ages.. Keep those pennies safe – they add up to change the face of youth social action across the country!

- Getting out of clearing up…
Being hung-over is no excuse… everyone should be involved in the clearing up the next morning. However, if you’ve got hangers on that just won’t get off your sofa, at least make them do it for money if they won’t do it for love. That’s right, charge them £4 to get out of clearing up and it’s more to add to your fundraising total!
We’re sure you’ve got loads more ideas about how to make a party into a worthy fundraising cause and make everyone feel a little bit better about what they’ve got up to. Don’t forget that it all adds up and every penny you raise will go towards inspiring young people to be involved in social action (making the world a better place!) and support for young people in volunteering, internships and that previous CV building experience.
