Apply now to volunteer overseas from July 2012!
Progressio ICS enables young people, aged 18-25, interested in understanding the role faith plays in international development, from all over the UK, to volunteer in a developing country for 10 weeks and to use this experience to inspire social action on global issues here in the UK.
Following a successful pilot scheme the Government has recently awarded a contract for 7,000 new ICS volunteer places over the next three years with the first placements starting in July. Progressio are delighted to be involved in this and you can apply now using the online application form.
All overseas placements for general participants (aged 18-25) are for 10 weeks and on your return to the UK you will get involved in social action inspired by your overseas experience.
There will also be some places available for those aged 23 and over, who have experience of working with and leading young people to apply to be a group leader for 6 month placements.
Doing what?
You will work on community, education, health or environmental projects with local organisations in Africa or Central America. You will be working alongside local young people and community organisations.
In groups of 4-7 with a group leader, volunteers will also be able to take on roles such as media, visual media, monitoring and evaluation or community relations.

Next departures
Departures are four times a year – January, April, July and October.
You can apply now to be in Malawi, Zimbabwe or El Salvador from July to September 2012.
