More info

This is a great opportunity for those who are thinking about a career in childcare, social care, any mdeical profession and/or have an interest in working with people with special needs. You'll also recieve free training.
Once you are trained, you will help look after children aged 5-12 (15 for children with complex needs or a disability) during school holidays and at weekend clubs at the YMCA. You'll play games, help run activities, art and craft, sport, help with day trips.
Training will be in Redhill (dates below) and in Banstead on Sunday 10th October, 10am-4pm. Let me know which one suits you better.
The training programme runs in Redhill on Sunday 14th November and in Banstead on Sunday 28th November (you only need to attend one of these dates). The following topics are covered during the training: An introducion to play, Child Protection, Health & Safety, disability awareness and first aid training.
Once you have been trained, you can then volunteer on the YMCA's various projects. Volunteers are partiularly needed at the Banstead site for the Yippee Scheme on Saturdays. You'd be helping look after children with special needs aged 5-15 where you'll play games, help run activities, art and craft, cookery, sport etc.
No qualifications or experience necessary. You must be a reliable, patient and cheerful person, with an enthusiasm to volunteer with children.
Just fill in the Surrey vInvolved Sign Up Form and email to frances.green@ymcaredhill.com if you'd like one of the limited places on this project.
