    Role: To lead and co-ordinate the development of volleyball at the host institution in order to encourage new players to come into the sport and to ensure all players have a quality experience at whatever level they participate

     

    Key Relationships: Senior HEVO, VE National Programmes Officer and Head Of Development, Athletic Union, Club Captains, Sport Development Centre staff, Hall Sport Secretaries, Director of Sport, local clubs, BUCS

     

    Key Tasks:

    ·         Support the Club Captains to develop the Volleyball Club within the institution, produce a club development plan and if appropriate help the club gain Volleyball England Club Accreditation (side out or Volley123)

    ·         Working with Club Captains, the AU and SDC identify and develop students to help manage and run the Volleyball Club including coaches, referees, team managers, event managers, media and PR managers and administrators

    ·         Working with the Club Captains, the AU, the SDC, IMS committee, recreational sport staff, Post Graduate and International offices to organise a range of activities that will increase student participation in volleyball. In particular help organise activities for recruitment during and immediately after Freshers’ week

    ·         Work in partnership with local clubs, local authority, schools and volunteer centers to help increase the numbers of volunteers supporting the club

    ·         Work with Senior HEVO, regional commissions and other partners to ensure locally accessible and affordable coaching courses are available to coaches at the club

    ·         Promote volunteering opportunities to students outside of the volleyball club

    ·         Monitor and evaluate the success of participation activities and provide feedback and best practice examples to Volleyball England once a term

    ·         Work with Club Captains, local clubs, SDC/AU to ensure equipment and facility needs of the volleyball club and activities are met

    ·         Act as a conduit of information between VE development staff and University students/club members to ensure access to appropriate development opportunities

    ·         Attend training events as necessary
