“For everyone’s mental and physical wellbeing!”
Do you enjoy sport and meeting people? Dorset Mental Health Forum and the SLAP programme welcome people of all abilities to take part in its Sports and Leisure Activity Programme.
This peer led programme was originally set up in recognition that participating in active sports or more relaxed activities can help improve general physical and mental wellbeing, as well as prevent and improve health conditions.
One of the key goals of SLAP is to make it easier for people to join in. It is our belief that equal emphasis be placed on the social benefits of each group as well as participating in each activity.
Activities include 5-A-Side Football at St Osmund’s Sports Centre, Badminton, Indoor Multi Sports at Bridport Youth Centre, a walking group in Weymouth, Wednesday is Cinema Club in Dorchester and Friday is swimming at Thomas Hardye Leisure Centre.
You can participate in activities or become a volunteer on SLAP Programme; the most important thing is to have FUN!
ACTIVITIES ARE FOR EVERYONE AND ALL ABILITIES.
SIMPLY TURN UP AND HAVE FUN!!!
