    The Organisation

Diabetes UK is the leading charity in the UK working for people with diabetes. We fund research, campaign and help people to live with the condition. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes and to work towards a future without diabetes.

Volunteers are at the heart of what we do and without their support we could not carry out our vital work in research, education and care. Our volunteers bring skills, experience, energy, enthusiasm and commitment to Diabetes UK. And volunteering can make a difference in your life too, letting you meet new people, learn new skills and have fun!

Diabetes UK has lots of volunteers throughout the UK and they help in many ways, from providing support to people living with diabetes to raising awareness about the seriousness of the condition to campaigning to improve diabetes services.

    Skills/Qualifications

Our internship scheme is open to anyone who is willing to commit to the duration of the volunteer placement, who would like to get experience of working in the charity sector and who has an interest in the work of Diabetes UK.

We want to encourage anyone who is interested to apply for an internship, no matter what your background is, or what education or work experience you have had. We will be looking for applicants who have the most relevant skills and interests.

Each role has essential and desirable qualities that we are looking for from a volunteer, these are listed in the role descriptions, which you can download from our web page
