Bangladesh Football Association UK
Bangladesh Football Association (BFA) is an umbrella organisation and represents 42 football teams from all over Greater London. BFA organises football leagues and tournaments for the Bangladeshi community at local, regional and national level. It supports member teams with capacity building to enable them to develop and provide better services to their users.
Amongst its many roles, BFA is committed to challenging the under-representation of Asians in mainstream football via its representative team Sporting Bengal United FC. BFA contributes to reports, discussions and meetings organised by the FA and other bodies about Asians in Football.
Not all BFA activities are focused around football. BFA uses football to engage young people and delivers other projects to support young people i.e. volunteering, employment and training, health and fitness, personal development, community cohesion, gang and knife crime projects. Although BFA’s main focus is on the Bangladeshi community, however, it is committed to equality and all its projects and services are open to everyone in the community.
