UNICEF UK
UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation focusing on children and child rights, with a presence in more than 190 countries and territories. We work with local communities, partners and governments to ensure every child’s rights to survive and thrive are upheld.
UNICEF UK raises funds for UNICEF’s emergency and development work around the world. In 2008 we raised £42.9 million for UNICEF’s work with children worldwide.
UNICEF UK’s network for young people aged 12-18 is Tagd, which upholds children and young people’s right to be heard. Members of Tagd campaign and lobby the Government, raise money for UNICEF’s work and spread the word about child rights. UNICEF UK World Explorers is our website for children aged 5-11. Children can find out about child rights and discover how children live all over the world.
UNICEF UK is building on the success and learning from the Rights Respecting Schools Award, Baby Friendly Initiative and international Child Friendly Cities programme to develop Child Friendly Communities, an exciting new programme which aims to improve rights realisation, wellbeing and outcomes for children in the UK by embedding child rights in local communities.
