Waterways Action Squad is being delivered in partnership by The Waterways Trust and British Waterways.  Currently Waterways Action Squad only operate in the north-west of England.

The Waterways Trust is a national charity which works with others to promote greater public enjoyment of our inland waterways.

We believe in improving our canals and rivers so that they are cared for and enjoyed by people from all walks of life. We work with others to realise the social, economic, educational and environmental benefits of our waterways through waterway regeneration, conservation, recreation, community, arts and education projects.

British Waterways is the organisation that cares for 2,200 miles of the country's canals and rivers.

Rich in heritage, abundant in wildlife and alive with culture, inland waterways are as popular today as they've ever been. Half the population lives within five miles of one of our canals and rivers and an incredible 11 million people use them every year as part of their everyday life - as a short-cut to work, walking the dog or simply taking time-out and watching the boats.
